The crash happened near the Riverside Parkway exit. Police shut down all lanes just after 4 a.m. and traffic backed up for several miles into Douglas County.

Cobb police say a maroon 2008 Pontiac G6 was driving down I-20 when the driver crashed into the median wall and stopped across the eastbound lanes.

A white 2022 Freightliner Cascadia tractor-trailer then crashed into the Pontiac.

The driver of the Pontiac was pronounced dead. That person’s name has not been released.
