In his very first training camp practice with the New York Giants, offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor left the field with an injury .

With roughly 25 minutes remaining in Wednesday’s practice, Eluemunor hit the ground after catching a stiff shot from nose tackle Dexter Lawrence. He was immediately attended to by trainers and helped off the field, but turned down a ride on the cart.

The Giants did not immediately reveal the nature of Eluemunor’s injury, leaving some to speculate about the severity. Ultimately, the team received good news with Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post reporting that the veteran suffered bruised ribs.

Eluemunor left practice walking gingerly alongside head trainer Ronnie Barnes after taking an accidental shot near the ribs on his left side from Dexter Lawrence during a running play.

He was diagnosed with bruised ribs, The Post learned.

Eluemunor also helped ease the minds of Giants’ fans on Friday evening with a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Everyone can now breathe a sigh of relief.

“Nothing serious,” head coach Brian Daboll said before Thursday’s practice. “Anybody Dex hits, you get sore from that.

“Did tests. Looked at him. He’s okay.”

Along with Jon Runayn Jr., Eluemunor was among the Giants’ prized free agent additions. He is a favorite of offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo and was slated to start at guard this season. His addition was intended to help shore up an offensive line that was among the worst in football history just a year ago.
