Liverpool fans can't hide excitement after seeing 'Arne Slot ball' for the very first time

Liverpool fans have gone into meltdown after seeing "Arne Slot ball" for the first time in training. The Dutchman has had a number of weeks to work with the majority of his first-team squad in pre-season and it appears things are finally clicking into place.

Slot has big boots to fill after Jurgen Klopp helped Liverpool to dominate sides with his high-intensity, gegenpressing style of football, but the Dutchman wasn't employed without valid reason and the club hierarchy believing he is the perfect choice to continue Klopp's legacy.

Operating within a broadly similar tactical framework, Slot was able to lead Feyenoord to league and cup titles in 2023 and 2024, respectively, using an attack-minded style of play that focuses on having a lot of the ball and playing with a lot of intensity.

But the two-time Eredivise Manager of the Year also doesn't get his teams to "overcommit to the high press," while reverting "into a more reserved block" if they fail to win the ball, according to a tactical analysis from Coaches Voice .

Now, in recent footage released from one of Liverpool's training sessions in the United States, it appears fans have finally got their first glimpse of "Arne Slot ball", with the likes of Jarell Quansah , Wataru Endo , Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah all involved as they put together a fine move that was finished off by Conor Bradley scoring.

The slick movement, one-touch passing and quick transition up the other end of the pitch looked impressive and was certainly enough to get Reds fans off their seats, with some saying Slot's vision has finally "come to life".

Reacting to the post on Liverpool's official X (formerly Twitter) account , one fan said: “Oh this team is going to cook and I can’t wait." Another commented: “We love the direct passing!!”, while a third added: “Slot ball is going to cook, number 7 incoming let’s go Reds!”

A third fan even went as far as saying that Liverpool's new style of play could see them go on and win all four trophies on offer this season under their new manager, saying that "Slot ball" is giving "quadruple vibes.”

And it won't be much longer before Reds fans get to feast their eyes on their team in action, with Slot taking charge of his first official game as head coach when his side face off against Real Betis at the Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on Friday.

The Reds will then face-off against Premier League rivals Arsenal (July 31) and Manchester United (August 3) to round-off their pre-season tour of the US, before returning to Anfield for their final friendly of the summer against Sevilla on August 11.
