Chinese Drama Dashing Youth Episode 16 Recap & Spoilers

The ongoing Wuxia Chinese drama Dashing Youth , starring Neo Hou and He Yu in the lead roles, released episode 16 on July 25, 2024. The latest instalment focuses on Baili Dongjun (Neo Hou) reuniting with his friend Sikong Changfeng.

In this episode, Sikong Changfeng enters the Diaolou Tavern, looking for a gift to buy for Domgjun. Mr. Chen, who was already sitting there, invites him to share a drink. Changfeng expresses his wish to buy Qiulubai, an expensive and rare liquor that is sold only once a month for four hours. When the waiter refuses to sell it to him, he decides to snatch the jar. But Mr. Xie, the tavern’s most experienced brew-master and martial artist stops him. He invites Sikong to a duel.

Sikong proudly boasts that he will be the first one in the history of the tavern to take away the 12 year old liquor. But according to the rule, if he loses, he will have to leave something behind. The duel doesn’t last very long as Mr. Xie throws him out of the way with a single blow. He was about to hit the hard surface and seriously injure himself, but Dongjun arrives there in time and saves him. When he hears about the liquor, he decides to team up with Sikong to defeat Mr. Xie.

Dongjun and Xie get into a fight. Mengsha introduces the former as Mr. Li’s youngest disciple. Dongjun challenges Xie. If he wins, he will take the Qiulubai liquor and also Sikong’s spear. But instead of a duel, Dongjun challenges him to make liquor, as good as him. His challenge leaves Xie surprised, as he is the best brew-master of the city. But, he accepts the challenge.

After getting out of tavern, the trio roam on the streets, catching up. Mengsha drangs them inside Baihua Hall, that looks like a brothel from the outside. He assures them that the hall is far away from being a brothel. It is known for a talented guqin player named Miss Feng. Even Gu Jianmen, the legendary swordsman couldn’t resist the charm of her music and proposed to her. But she turned him down. Dongjun is surprised to witness important personalities like Mr. Tu of the Qianjin hall present at the hall to hear her music.

Neo Hou bumps into an old acquaintance

After she starts playing, Sikong recognizes the score right away. He picks up a leaf and starts harmonizing to the music. Impressed by his talent, Miss Feng requests to meet him in private. Sikong comes to know that they both come from the same place. When Miss Feng mentions that she is looking for her brother, his heart melts for her. Although he doesn’t remember much about his own past, he promises to be her brother and protect her. Miss Feng takes a liking to him.

Further into the episode, the Emperor receives information about Dongjun from the grand eunuch. It appears he has been keeping an eye on him. The Qiulubai liquor was made in the third year of the Emperor’s reign and he wishes to sacrifice it to the gods. The grand eunuch manipulates the Emperor saying that by challenging Mr. Xue, Dongjun humiliated them in public and he needs to be punished.

What happens in Dashing Youth episode 16’s ending?

The Emperor summons Mr. Li to find out Dongjun and Dengzhi’s whereabouts. But Mr. Li can see through his plan. He knows that the Emperor killed one of his sworn brothers before and refuses to disclose any information.

Furthermore, he steps down from his position as the chancellor. He warns the Emperor to not challenge an immortal being like him. While passing by the head eunuch’s carriage, Mr. Li kills him off with a silent blow.
