A Sinead O'Connor waxwork has been unveiled between depictions of Star Wars characters at the National Wax Museum in Dublin , Ireland. The Irish singer is immortalized with the new life-size wax figure but some fans aren't too fond of the newly unveiled piece of waxwork.

The wax figure shows O'Connor with her signature shaved head and wearing a simple black outfit, a nod to the look she sported in the music video for Nothing Compares 2 U . The wax statue can be seen standing next to characters from the Star Wars franchise such as Darth Vader and Liam Neeson's Qui-Gon Jinn.

The wax figure was unveiled at a ceremony at Dublin's National Wax Museum today. Since its big reveal, reactions to the figure have been mixed.

A number of people questioned why O'Connor's statue was located right beside characters from Star Wars. One person commented: "And she's next to Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Vader because....??????"

Another X user wrote: "It was always her dream to become a Jedi." A third said: "She was my favourite part of the Star Wars franchise, it's true."

Others criticized the accuracy of the depiction of Sinead O'Connor. One person said: "Why’d they model the Sinéad O’Connor waxwork off a thunderbird puppet?" Another commented: "The new Sinead O'Connor wax work looks like they just found an old mannequin in a skip and said, yep that will do."

The wax statue was unveiled ahead of Sinead O'Connor's first anniversary this week. O'Connor passed away on July 26, 2023, at the age of 56.

A coroner confirmed that the late singer died of natural causes . She was found "unresponsive" in her southeast London apartment.

She was brought home for a funeral ceremony in her native Ireland following her death. Thousands lined the streets of Bray to pay tribute to the singer before a private ceremony.
