Ken Jennings left Jeopardy! viewers crying with laughter as he failed to keep a straight face while revealing the correct answer to a question.

Fans watched on as Tim Herd, Lindsay Denninger, and Neilesh Vinjamuri were left stumped when it came to the US Areas and Territories category. The contestants were playing for $1,600 and were given the clue: "Despite the name, these birds aren't dumb – the masked brown types make their homes on Johnston Atoll, a nature wildlife refuge."

All three players were baffled by the question and no one managed to buzz in to make a guess. Ken issued a three-word response as he revealed the correct answer, smiling to himself as he said: "Those are boobs."

Viewers were in hysterics over Ken's comments and praised him for his delivery of the answer. "Heh heh. He said boobys. You can tell Ken is trying to slyly keep a straight face right at the end," one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Another joked: "One of the @Jeopardy writers' inner 12YO wrote a clue," while someone else said: "Ken sounded just a bit too cheery on that." One fan thought the contestant's would have been devastated to have heard the answer, saying: "Imagine missing your chance to say boobies unironically on TV...."

A fifth viewer questioned: "Who wants to say 'What are boobies?' on national television?" as another replied: "I guess I would for the comedy, but not surprised by the silence."

By the end of the episode, Neilesh came out on top after winning $11,999. Sadly for Tim, he ended the first round with -$1,600 and things went from bad to worse. After the first round, Tim was at -$3,600.

Double Jeopardy came and went and Tim was still in the negative. At the end of Double Jeopardy, Tim had only got one question right out of the six he answered. Tim had -$2,400, so he sadly wasn't able to go to the Final Jeopardy round.

Despite his poor performance, viewers at home shared their support. "Props to Tim for making it to the Alex Trebek Stage. Really wasn't his day, but getting on #Jeopardy is an accomplishment in and of itself," one person wrote. Another said: "Poor Tim just could not get anything going. He got run over by his opponents who were like buzzer demons. To Tim: at least you tried your best; I hope you had fun on the show. #Jeopardy."
