Vice President Kamala Harris For President dropped their first ad, featuring a Beyoncé soundtrack and an upbeat vibe — punctuated with crime-themed imagery of former President Donald Trump .
In the first campaign ad since President Joe Biden dropped out and VP Harris ascended to the position of presumptive nominee, Team Harris put their Bey-approved theme song “Freedom” under a package that dropped serial-killer-filter clips of Trump and Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) and Trump’s mugshot into a sea of rally clips and Freedom-inspired rhetoric:
VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS: In this election, we each face a question.
What kind of country do we want to live in?
There are some people who think we should be a country of chaos. Of fear. Of hate.
But us. We choose something different.
We choose freedom.
The freedom not just to get by, but get ahead. The freedom to be safe from gun violence. The freedom to make decisions about your own body.
We choose a future where no child lives in poverty. Where we all can afford health care, where no one is above the law.
We believe in the promise of America and we are ready to fight for it.
Because when we fight, we win. So join us.

In a memo , the campaign introduced the ad by writing:
Today, Harris for President is releasing its first official video of the campaign: “We Choose Freedom.” Featuring Beyonce’s song, “Freedom,” the video underscores the core issue at stake this November: Americans’ rights and freedoms. During the spot, Vice President Harris invites Americans to join her in the fight to protect those freedoms and to come together to defeat Donald Trump and his Project 2025 agenda once again.
…
This video, airing across all campaign social media platforms, comes as Vice President Harris has received a historic groundswell of support for her candidacy and becomes the presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party.
