Popeyes hit back after brutal Cardi B wings criticism

Popeyes have hit back after some brutal criticism from rapper and popstar Cardi B about their well-known and beloved chicken wings.

Popeyes are known for its delicious chicken , and while it's adored all over the country, Cardi B took issue with one aspect of the meal in a rant on her Instagram page .

In fact, it was actually only one flavor in particular that the rapper didn't like. She said: "Popeyes, y’all really fumbled with this ****** flavor, because this flavor is not it.

"This lemon-pepper flavor with honey or this sweet taste on it, it’s just not good. It tastes like a ******* Sprite soda, I don’t like it. From 1 through 10, I’ll give it a 2. I like the other one. I like the Sweet Heat. I was trying to be a little different… I was trying to do lemon-pepper, I did not think it was going to come with a sweet kick to it. I don’t ******* like it."

Popeyes took the criticism well though, insisting that they are happy to hear feedback from any of the restaurant's customers.

In a statement issued to TMZ, Popeyes said: "If you can’t take the heat, then get out of the kitchen. And we are in the kitchen. A lot. We welcome all Wing rankings and reviews as we believe variety is the spice of life and that’s why we have six flavors for wing enthusiasts like Cardi to enjoy."

The story has a relatively happy ending though, as Cardi did praise other flavors from Popeyes, and insisted that it's great that the chain stays open until 4am in some states across the US.
