Celine Dion to make comeback performance during Olympics opening ceremony in Paris

    2024-07-25

It looks like global superstar Celine Dion is set to make her return to the stage at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris during the opening ceremony on Friday. If the rumors are true, this will mark the pop icon's first performance since being diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in December 2022, which caused her to cancel her touring schedule and step away from the spotlight.

Acording to Variety, Dion arrived in Paris on Monday at the Royal Monceau Hotel near the Champs-Élysées, where Lady Gaga is also staying. It is also rumored that they could possibly be performing a duet together.

While Dion's representatives did not respond to requests for comment. Dion dropped a big hint during an interview last April, telling Vogue France, "I've chosen to work with all my body and soul, from head to toe, with a medical team. I want to be the best I can be. My goal is to see the Eiffel Tower again!"

This will not be Dion's first performace at the Olympics. She kicked off the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, performing “The Power of the Dream.” The ceremony was watched by a record 3.5 billion people around the world.
