One killed, one airlifted to hospital after house explosion in Madison County

LINCOLN, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — One person is dead and another was airlifted to the hospital after a house explosion at 4621 Burleson Hill Road in the Town of Lincoln in Madison County on Wednesday evening, July 24.

The first 911 calls went out around 6:30 p.m.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they saw the home was destroyed with debris all over, said Samantha Field, a public information officer for Madison County.

They rescued a man and woman from the debris. One was dead at the scene and the other was airlifted to Upstate Hospital.

The man and woman were the residents of the home, Field said.

First responders also reported smelling propane at the scene.
