The president is back in the White House, not in hospice care

Following several days of isolation due to a COVID-19 infection, Biden tested negative and continues to perform his duties as president, according to a July 23 memo from Dr. Kevin O’Connor , the president's physician. Biden addressed the nation on July 24 in an address from the Oval Office.

In his first public appearance since announcing his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race on July 21, Biden said he was "well" as he boarded Air Force One in Delaware on July 23 to return to the White House.

There are no credible reports that Biden is dying and in hospice care, which would be a major news story.

The user that supposedly posted the news on X, @GlobalPressCorp, is not an active account .

Even though he left the race, Biden has made it clear he plans to remain in office. He said in a letter the decision would allow him to “focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term,” which ends in January 2025.

Fact check : Announcement of Jimmy Carter's death is fabricated, but fooled many

As Biden announced his withdrawal from the race, he endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the Democratic nomination. USA TODAY's count of delegates shows that Harris has secured endorsements from more than 1,976 delegates, passing the number needed to be the party nominee.

USA TODAY reached the user who shared the post for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

    PolitiFact also debunked the claim.
