A Greenville County woman first accused of unlawful conduct toward a child is now charged with homicide by child abuse.

The arrest warrant says 28-year-old Lynda Leigh Nicole Lawson left her seven-month-old son in a bathtub -- quoting --"unattended for an extended period of time, causing him to drown." Lawson is being held at Greenville County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

The infant, pronounced dead yesterday (Wednesday), had been on life support ever since an EMS unit was sent to the home she shared with her boyfriend, identified as Robert Bull, Jr. Both were charged with unlawful conduct towards a child.

Investigators described conditions in the house as "unsafe and deplorable." Bull is not charged with the death of the child. Deputies say he was not in the house when the baby drowned.
