Golf best bets: Dougherty's three outright picks for LIV Golf UK

If Cameron Smith can keep his driver in play, this should be a perfect course for him.
LIV Golf is back in action this week with its 11th tournament of the season, this time at JCB Golf & Country Club in Rocester, England. JCB is a tricky golf course with multiple blind shots, water hazards and large, sloping greens that demand precise iron shots.
Smith shot 80-74 at the British Open to miss the cut by six shots, making this the perfect time to buy low on the Australian. Royal Troon Golf Club was impossible to play from the thick rough, so it was a terrible fit for Smith and his inconsistent driver. JCB is much more wide open with only a few water hazards and minimal trees in play.
If Smith can keep his driver in play, this should be a perfect course for him. The sloping fairways and greens are similar to the ones at Augusta National Golf Club, where Smith has five top-10 finishes in his career.
Iron play is going to be crucial this week, and Ancer is coming in with a ton of confidence in his approach play. The Mexican ranked 19th in the field at the British Open in strokes gained on approach, giving him the best iron week of any LIV player.
Ancer won in Hong Kong earlier this year and rattled off four straight top-10 finishes. He ranks first on LIV in driving accuracy and 10th in greens in regulation, so he's a solid target on a golf course most of these players are seeing for the first time.
Horsfield is going to be on everyone's betting card this week, but we don't care. The Englishman is a member at JCB and lives five minutes away from the golf course. Most LIV Golf players hadn't played the course until arriving this week, so Horsfield is going to have a huge advantage with his knowledge of these blind tee shots and tricky greens.
Horsfield finished runner-up at LIV Golf Nashville last month, so he's playing his best golf of the season coming in. Hopefully, he can cook up some home-field magic this week.
