Angel Reese has ended up in hot water with Nicki Minaj fans after a viral TikTok video of her expressing disgust as soon as the background song changed into the rapper’s verse.

In recent months, Angel Reese has become hip-hop’s favorite basketball player, attracting Latto to sit courtside at one of her games and performing onstage with Megan Thee Stallion during her Chicago tour stop.

In May 2024, the Chi-Town Barbie made headlines with her spicy dance moves as she performed alongside hitmakers GloRilla and Megan Thee Stallion.

Reese shared some of the hottest moments on her Instagram story, revealing that she attended the show with Chicago Sky teammates Michaela Onyenwere, Isabelle Harrison, Diamond DeShields, and Dana Evans.

The former LSU star also appeared in the music video for Latto and Cardi B’s song “Put It On Da Floor Again,” which has over 100 million views on YouTube.

It’s no surprise that Reese acted that way toward Nicki Mija’s verse since almost all her rap girlies are nemesis of the “Anaconda” hitmaker.

The incident occurred when a Nicki Minaj verse came on while Reese was dancing video, and the basketball star abruptly removed herself from the frame.

The widely shared and commented-on video shows Reese enjoying a popular song featuring Nicki Minaj. However, when the rap queen’s iconic verse begins, Reese abruptly steps out of the frame, muttering an almost inaudible “ew.”

Fans of Minaj, known as the Barbz, expressed disappointment and accused Reese of disrespecting the iconic rapper. Many people took to social media to express their views, with some calling for a boycott of Reese’s content.

They are also digging up old clips, such as one in which she is asked which musical guest she would like to have on if she could host an episode of SNL. In that interview, she mentioned all of Nicki’s opponents, including Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, Cardi B, and GloRilla.

While Reese has yet to publicly address the controversy, the incident has sparked a heated debate about Nicki Minaj having the pettiest fanbase. Do you agree?
