    The opening ceremony may not be for another day, but the United States women’s soccer team starts their 2024 Olympics with a group stage match today.

    The lead-up to the USWNT ‘s Olympic run was marked with contentious team selections, as Alex Morgan was left off the roster for the first Olympic Games since 2008 while controversial player Korbin Albert made the team .

    This year’s roster features just eight players who won bronze at the 2020 Olympics (played in 2021) and 10 players rom the 2023 Women’s World Cup roster, marking a shift toward balancing seasoned players with fresh faces on the national team.

    The USWNT is going for gold, and that starts today with the group stage. Below, we outlined everything you need to know to tune in to United States women’s soccer games at the 2024 Olympics.

    USWNT 2024 Olympics schedule:

    The Olympic football tournament begins with a group stage, before moving onto quarterfinals, semifinals, a third-place game, and the gold-medal game. There are three games in the group stage.

    Thursday, July 25

    • vs. Zambia, 3:00 p.m. ET (USA Network, Peacock)

    If the USWNT advances beyond the group stage, quarterfinals will be played on August 3, semifinals. on August 6, the bronze medal game on August 9 and the gold medal game on August 10.
