    Fairfax County officers arrive in France to assist in Olympic Games security

    FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — With the 2024 Paris Olympic Games set to start on July 26, the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) flew across the Atlantic Ocean to help with the security response.

    Three charged in high-speed chase that left deputy hurt in Stafford County

    FCPD sent 12 officers and an explosive detection canine to help French police keep the athletes, visitors and staff safe.

    “I am immensely proud to announce this prestigious opportunity for our officers to represent our community at the 2024 Paris Olympics,” said Chief Kevin Davis. “This opportunity showcases FCPD’s commitment to public safety both domestically and on a global stage.”

    The officers will help by guarding Olympic venues, popular tourist areas and other areas across Paris.
