Chrissy Teigen is teaching her daughter Luna the importance of giving back while they both teach members of an assisted living community a simple yet stunning craft. Teigen posted a carousel of footage from their day volunteering on Instagram, and it’s the kind of wholesome content we desperately needed.

In the photos and video, the Cravings author and her 8-year-old help residents make oyster shell decor dishes that Teigen swears “could not be easier to make!” To start, you need oyster shells (you can buy them in bulk on Amazon), Mod Podge , “cheapy” paper napkins (no need to go all out!), and gold metallic paint (currently 30 percent off on Amazon!).
“Just de-ply your napkins, keeping only the print side,” Teigen wrote in her caption and demonstrated in a video. If you lick your thumb and forefinger, it should be easy to get the plain backing off the napkin.
“Apply mod podge to the inside of your shell (make sure to get all the way to the edge!) then gently lay your napkin, fitting it gently to all the little crevices,” the mom of four continued. “Use your fingers to press and tear away the napkin from all the edges.”
Then you’ll want to apply another layer of Mod Podge, let it dry, and paint the edge of the shell gold.
It was too sweet to see little Luna — who Teigen shares with her husband John Legend along with 6-year-old son Miles and babies Esti and Wren — helping and giving back to her community. And the craft really does look so easy. It would be the perfect rainy day activity for creative kiddos. It doesn’t take too much money, time, or effort, and yet the result is beautiful!

Luna is also known for being one of the craftiest members of the Teigen-Legend household. Back in March, Teigen showed off the beyond-impressive dollhouse that Luna built out of cardboard, popsicle sticks, and other easy-to-find art supplies. The little girl built the multi-level home in just one morning and gave an adorable tour of the DIY dollhouse.
Fans were obsessed with her creation, asking if they could preorder a dream house from her and joking that she works faster than every contractor in Los Angeles.
“I love that she’s making that house!” one follower wrote. “I’m an art teacher and I wish more parents would encourage their kids to do this stuff instead of just buying a piece of plastic. This is infinitely cooler and a great learning experience.”
