Worcester Town Board Supervisor Jim Michler was appointed board president at a July 3 special board meeting. Russ Long was elected as a town supervisor to take the place of Michler.

Michler fills the vacancy left by Worcester Town Board President Paul Precour who became ineligible to serve on the town board after moving to a new residence in the city of Phillips. The resignation is effective July 30, according to Michelor.

Paul Schilling was the second candidate for the empty supervisor seat. Long won by a vote of town board members after hearing input from nominators and supporters on why each individual would be a good addition to the town board.

Worcester Clerk and Treasurer Atti Mathys read the oath of office to Long who in turn recited the oath. Michler also took the oath of the board chair.
