Charles Barkley Reportedly Being Courted By Other Network For Future NBA Seasons

The NBA's decade-plus partnership with TNT has officially come to a close.

Turner Sports was left on the outside looking in on the league's new $76 billion broadcast deal, losing its media rights to Amazon Prime Video. ESPN/ABC and NBC will also televise and stream NBA games and events going forward.

Where does that leave Charles Barkley? The Hall-of-Fame player turned iconic commentator is apparently already being courted to join Amazon and ESPN's NBA coverage, with Barkley's beloved Inside The NBA cohorts potentially coming with him.

"ESPN is already eying Barkley and the entire cast of Inside the NBA , say my sources," Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports reported on Thursday. "Ditto for Prime."

Barkley initially blanched at the prospect of working for another network once it became clear TNT was at risk of losing the NBA. His harshest criticism of late has been saved for Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, though, an indication Barkley could indeed take his media talents elsewhere in coming seasons.

Another major lure for Barkley? The salary of $20 million or mulled by FOS as the price he could command from the league's new broadcasts on the open market.

Wherever Barkley ends up, let's just cross our fingers that Inside The NBA follows him.
