Dogs love to get dirty. It's a fact. It doesn't matter how clean they are, they can't wait to roll around in something gross to get the clean "stink" off. This is exactly the case with Lemon the golden Retriever who just wants a quick roll in the mud, even when Mom says no.

On July 24, 2024, Life of Lemon ( @thelifeoflemon ) shared the funny argument between a frustrated pup and her Mom's rules about mud. Watch Lemon's little tantrum below!

"POV your sassy Golden Retriever loves to talk back," the video begins. "The sass is strong with this one."

In the clip, little Lemon seems to want to leave the porch to, as Mom says, play in the mud. The Golden doesn't like when Mom says no, so she tells her all about it by barking and whining to please let her get dirty.

"You're clean," Mom says. "Let's keep it that way."

Despite Lemon's continued cries, Mom says it's a "non-negotiable" as the pup tries to walk down the steps to do as she pleases but quickly gets told "nope," followed by "you can cry all you want, honey. It's not going to change the outcome."

Finally, Lemon gives in and lays down, but her many followers are loving the whole interaction.

"Oh no!!! Toddler to teenager!!!" one person joked. "We will always roll in mud with you lemon," another commented. "Loving the back talk," another added, to which TK replied she's the "Queen of Sass!"

She's definitely nailed the attitude but we're not mad about it!

    Why Do Dogs Love Mud?

It may be difficult to keep your house clean with dogs , but Lemon isn't the only pup longing to roll around and get dirty. Modern Vet Services explains dogs like mud because they like the taste and smell, "as well as the texture, which is similar to their fur." Not only that, but on a hot day, mud keeps their bodies cool (since they don't sweat), and their minds busy since it's also just plain fun.

Other reasons they love mud include masking scent from other animals to prevent them from knowing where they come from, and some just like the taste of mud. Regardless of why they like playing in it or rolling in it, dogs are intent on doing things their own way—and Lemon is no different! Maybe playing in the mud wasn't on the agenda that day, but we're sure she'll "ask" to get back in it again soon.
