ESPN personality Mike Greenberg.
Anyone who’s ever listened to an ESPN television or radio show hosted by Mike Greenberg knows of his undying allegiance to the New York Jets.
His personal feelings for the may have played a part in the bold predictions he laid out Thursday during his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” in which he forecasted what will happen with Jets edge-rusher Haason Reddick and Las Vegas Raiders star receiver Davante Adams.
“I already consider Davante Adams a Jet,” Greenberg quipped . “As far as I’m concerned we already have him. Anything that you want to wager, I will wager that Davante Adams is a Jet by Halloween and Haason Reddick starts the season Week 1 in San Francisco.”
Adams isn’t even a member of the Jets but he’s been talked about by national sports media personalities as if he were.
The 31-year-old wideout recently stated he was committed to the Raiders and head coach Antonio Pierce, but there’s been growing speculation that he could be traded to New York to reunite with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
And Rodgers has done a bit of pot-stirring with the situation himself, recently telling a reporter he couldn’t wait to play with Adams again . Adams also admitted that Rodgers had been in his ear about playing together again, but the All-Pro WR is tied to the Raiders for the next three seasons unless they trade him.
Reddick, on the other hand, has been a no-show at Jets training camp this week while holding out for a new contract. The 29-year-old pass-rush specialist is in the final season of the three-year, $45M contract he signed in 2022 with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Reddick is set to make up to $15M this season with incentives and a workout bonus, but he be fined $50K for every day of camp he misses.
