As for why Harris wanted to join the Gen Z-dominated platform, her campaign manager, Rob Flaherty, said it was to reach voters. “Our job as a campaign is to break through the noise and make sure we’re talking to voters wherever they are — TikTok is one of those landscapes, and we’re leaving no stone unturned," Flaherty told People . Flaherty added that with this account, Harris can “engage with a key constituency” in an “authentic” way. While Harris has only been on the platform for a day, memes of her have been going viral for weeks. Her reference to a coconut tree during a 2023 White House event has been used as a sound for countless videos and now Harris has been brat-ified by Charli XCX fans.
