Trinity Rodman and Mallory Swanson led the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team to a 3-0 victory during a pre-Opening Ceremony 2024 Paris Olympics Group B match against Zambia Thursday (July 25).

Rodman, 22, who made her Olympic debut on Thursday, gave the Americans their first goal by evading defenders on a move she calls the "Trin Spin," in the first half.

"That was just an instinctual thing because I haven't really trained that," Rodman said via ESPN . "But it worked out perfectly.

"I think in that situation I knew that if I took a touch in front of me, it probably would've put me out of the frame of the goal," she added. "I was trying to just put her off balance, which worked, so I'm happy about that."

Swanson, 26, who has been part of the USWNT since 2016 but didn't make the the 2020 Tokyo Games squad, added two more that occurred 66 seconds apart, setting a new club record for fastest goals.

"I was so proud of her," USWNT captain Lindsey Horan of Swanson via ESPN . "It's going to give her a burst of confidence and that's what we want from our forwards."

The USWNT and 24/7 coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympic will broadcast live on NBC Olympics Radio Plus .
