Jim Harbaugh Clearly Doesn’t Skip Leg Day, Pulls Chargers Player By Resistance Band While Wearing Cleats

    By Matt Fitzgerald,

Good lord I love that Jim Harbaugh is back in the NFL. Enough with all the pancaking predominantly cupcake opponents into oblivion at the college level. It's frankly beneath Jim. He just had to win a national championship to move back to the pros. Respect. He got it done. Now we can move on with our lives, because the NFL has missed Jim Harbaugh. And so have the Los Angeles Chargers and their sh*t show of a coaching carousel of recent memory. To set the tone at training camp, Harbaugh took to the podium to liken the NFL's dog days of summer to "
coming out of the womb ." https://twitter.com/SharpFootball/status/1816175935298888036?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1816175935298888036%7Ctwgr%5E10a6395a2bc9e8b4894d5051c823dbe0a4730887%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.whiskeyriff.com%2F2024%2F07%2F24%2Ffeels-like-coming-out-of-the-womb-jim-harbaugh-wasted-no-time-being-weird-on-first-day-of-training-camp%2F Hell yes. Directly into my veins, please. Jim also delivered my favorite sports-related quote since Allen Iverson's practice rant, referring to "today" as not just another day, but "TO-day." https://twitter.com/FanDuel/status/1790075786696982989 Now our larger-than-life-but-actually-real-and- for -real folk hero is going to extraordinary, ridiculous lengths for exercise like nobody's watching. Except thanks to some signature "scoopage" as the man himself Jay Glazer would put it, we have footage of Harbaugh getting some resistance-band, player-aided, backward strides in after the Bolts' latest practice: https://twitter.com/JayGlazer/status/1816581025188970581 Bless this man. I mean not really. Does Jim Harbaugh
need blessings? His singular being of peculiar humanness seems to transcend such mortal well wishes. Harbaugh represents the brightest beacon of hope the Chargers organization has seen in years. And by "years" I mean "eons" in professional 'Merican football terms. The upgrade from Brandon Staley to Harbaugh doesn't register on any quantifiable scale. You would need to erect a structure akin to CERN's Large Hadron Collider, point it skyward, and invert it so that its exponentially expansive observational abilities would reach beyond the known universe. Then you'd be, like, halfway home. All this man knows how to do is win. He couldn't lose big if he tried. Whether it's at the podium, on game days, or endearing himself to the unconverted via these types of practice field hijinks, Harbaugh can't help but do anything else but rack up dubyas. I would love an explanation for Harbaugh's exercise in this all too brief clip. It's also difficult to tell who the player is. I'm thrilled to report that in scouring the Chargers roster, my best guess of "Willis Patrick" was bang-on correct. A 24-year-old rookie offensive guard, undrafted out of TCU. Is this a bit of rookie hazing? Perhaps. Good luck finding anything else on
our boy Willis aside from his physical dimensions (6-4, 338 pounds). Googling him for additional info is borderline impossible, despite how simple that sounds on principle. Why is this? Well, because once upon a time, Harbaugh coached one of the best linebackers of all-time and certainly one of the top-five I've seen play in my lifetime. His name was Patrick Willis. He played eight seasons in the NFL. Did enough to get into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Class of 2024. Shout out to Patrick. Inspiring the best linebacker in the game Fred Warner to this day. https://twitter.com/mattblively/status/1816192612677869905 https://twitter.com/49ers/status/1755791528507941259 ...And I'm maybe 51.5% sure that Harbaugh took a UDFA flier on Willis Patrick on name alone. And for personal exotic exercise usage. JK he's p. good at pigskin. https://twitter.com/tylerjschoon/status/1785716065688842553
