Ice Spice broke her silence after fans slammed Matty Healy for comments they accused him of making.

It turns out that the break-through artist was unconcerned about the entire situation, telling fans they're taking it all too seriously. Matty was accused of making unsavory about Ice Spice's ethnicity , but this is a half-truth misconception. Matty, himself, did not make the comments.

The 1975 singer appeared on an episode of The Adam Friedland Show and admitted he previously slid into the rapper's DMs, but heard nothing back. Jokes were made by the hosts at that point about Ice Spice, imitating Chinese , Hawaiian, and Japanese accents. While Matty did not participating in the mocking, he did seem to laugh at the hosts

Ice Spice told Rolling Stone that it took her a month or so to even find out about the incident and that he "apologized multiple times." Additionally, while she never "cared" about the incident, she also "didn’t realize how big of a deal it was to other people." Ice Spice added: "I feel like people just wanted something to be mad about, I guess. I wasn’t angry or sad or anything. I was just kind of confused."

After the initial incident, he apologized on stage during a performance, saying: “I never meant to hurt anybody. I’m sorry if I’ve offended you and, like, Ice Spice, I’m sorry. It’s not because I’m annoyed that me joking got misconstrued, it’s cause I don’t want Ice Spice to think I’m a d---. I love you, Ice Spice. I’m so sorry. I don’t want anything to be misconstrued as mean. I don’t mind being a bit of a joker … but I don’t want to be perceived as, like, kind of mean-hearted.”

Both Matty and Ice Spice seem to have moved on from the ordeal with the rapper even branding herself as a "huge fan" of his band. Matty told the New Yorker that the podcast appearance “it doesn’t actually matter.”

He added: “If it does [bother you], you’re either deluded or you are, sorry, a liar. You’re either lying that you are hurt, or you’re a bit mental for being hurt. It’s just people going, ‘Oh, there’s a bad thing over there, let me get as close to it as possible so you can see how good I am.’ And I kind of want them to do that, because they’re demonstrating something so base level.”
