    Areas of Greenville closed due to rising water levels after heavy rains

    GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) – With rain falling over the past several days, problems are continuing for parts of Eastern North Carolina, including some closures of the Greenville Greenway along the Tar River.

    According to a Facebook post Thursday afternoon by Greenville Recreation and Parks, water levels have increased along that river.

    Closures include:

    • Town Common Boat Ramp
    • South Tar River Greenway
    • South Tar River Greenway near Beech Street
    • South Tar River Greenway near East 5th Street and Cemetery Road on the East side Green Springs Park
