The N.C. Department of Public Instruction Office of School Nutrition recently informed Granville County Public Schools that students at all 16 GCPS schools have qualified for the Community Eligibility Provision.

This four-year provision will enable GCPS to provide all students with free meals for breakfast and lunch through the 2027-2028 school year without the burden of completing a household application.

Superintendent Stan Winborne is grateful for this news.

“Hungry students are not successful students,” Winborne said. “GCPS is excited that all our students can now have two free, healthy meals at school each day. We are grateful to Director of Child Nutrition Meg Strong for her work in securing the Community Eligibility Provision for our district.”
