It's rather poignant that Jadon Sancho hasn't made much fuss about his comeback to the Manchester United squad.

On his Instagram Story, he took the time to send birthday wishes to Manuel Akanji and Erling Haaland, his old pals from Borussia Dortmund who are now with Manchester City . Another mate's birthday bash got a shoutout too.

Yet, there's been no social media buzz from Sancho about getting back into training at United. His Instagram bio is devoid of any reference to United, and he's scrubbed his page clean of any posts tied to the club.

Donning the United shirt is a dream for millions, but for Sancho, it seems more like a burden. The most recent snap on Sancho's feed takes us back to June 3, a throwback to his Dortmund days - that's front and center on his pages. His silence is deafening.

When Sancho hit the German turf again in January, he talked up Dortmund as "home". But those familiar surroundings didn't quite cut it. On the very day he pitched up back at Carrington, Dortmund handed his No. 10 jersey over to Julian Brandt.

United wisely left Sancho out of their cheerful squad photos as they set off from Carrington for Manchester Airport on Wednesday. After discussing "past issues" with Erik ten Hag a fortnight ago, Sancho still seems tied to United's history rather than its future, despite his current role in the team.

As Ten Hag chatted with reporters at Murrayfield on Saturday, Sancho slipped by with what appeared to be a knowing grin. His timely departure now hints at a more definitive one on the horizon.

Sancho's performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semifinal caught the French team's eye, and there's talk in Paris about bringing him over. It's a move that would suit everyone, including the Red Devils. Dortmund remains interested in Sancho, and Juventus has reached out to United regarding his availability.

In a recent interview, Ten Hag praised Sancho's "terribly good" abilities, but there's been little proof of that on the pitch during his tenure at Old Trafford. Sancho, dynamic as he is, seemingly lacks the right mindset for United - a change is necessary.
