Though he previously had a professional background in finance, Mullen switched careers to be a real estate agent, like his TV star girlfriend. The couple has been living in the three-bedroom home that Gina owns, alongside their large brood of children: Travis is a father of two daughters, Presley and Bennett , and a son named Joseph , and Gina has three kids of her own, Nicholas , Sienna , and Luca that she shares with ex-husband Matt Kirschenheiter .

However, Gina revealed in a Season 14 episode that Matt had had an extramarital affair when the twosome first moved to Orange County from New York. "We tried to work through it the best we could," Gina said. "We were in therapy, [and] it opened our eyes to other problems in the relationship."

Though the Kirschenheiters briefly reconciled their relationship, Gina decided on a permanent split from her now-ex-husband following a harrowing case of domestic violence in June 2019. Matt pled guilty to one count of domestic battery and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud or deceit. He avoided serving 180 days in county jail by completing a 52-week batterer’s program and three years’ worth of formal probation, but the incident prompted Gina to issue a temporary restraining order against her ex and to finalize their divorce in 2019.
