With just over 200 countries participating, the Parade of Nations during the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony will be a spectacle to behold. For the first time, the Games' inaugural event will take place on the water, as boats full of each nations' delegation embark on the Seine river during the festivities.

Of course, everyone is most excited to watch their home country enter the Games. USA's opening ceremony outfits give the Americans an official aura, though not all of the 592 athletes on the team will be participating in the parade — about 350 will be present on the USA boat.

So when can fans back home hope to see USA's grand entrance? The Sporting News has you covered with everything you need to know ahead of the opening ceremony.

When will Team USA come out for the opening ceremony?

Traditionally, countries have always entered the Parade of Nations alphabetically in the language of the host nation. In this year's case, that would be French. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule.

Greece always enters first, in honor of the country where the Olympics began, and the Refugee Olympic Team has entered second since its founding during the 2020 Tokyo Games. The host nation, in this case France, enters last.

Additionally, the Tokyo Games were the first in which hosts of the upcoming Games enter second- and third-to-last. Because the United States is hosting the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 2028, Team USA will embark on the Seine just before France and just after Australia, which is hosting the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane.

So, sit back, relax and enjoy the opening ceremony, which is slated to last more than three hours. It will be a little while until USA shows up in the Parade of Nations on spectators' screens.
