Potential Harris VP Pick Hits JD Vance With Blistering Trump Title

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) used an iconic “Austin Powers” character to explain why former President Donald Trump selected Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) as his running mate earlier this month.

“He’s the Donald Trump Mini-Me,” Pritzker told CNN’s Jake Tapper on Wednesday.

Pritzker — who is reportedly being considered as a potential running mate for Vice President Kamala Harris — said the Ohio senator insults women and hides his opposition to reproductive rights even in cases of rape and incest.

The Illinois governor told Tapper that the “blue wall” — which includes his state — is “very important” to Democrats when asked if the Harris campaign should consider someone from the area.

“Donald Trump has done terribly in Illinois. And across the Midwest, there is a growing sense that JD Vance just doesn’t stand where most Illinoisans and most Midwesterners stand. So, you know, it’s a question,” he said.

Pritzker added that Trump seems to be “drifting away” from Vance, a VP choice that some Republicans have reportedly expressed “buyer’s remorse” over in private, due to his “weird views.”

“I mean, he’s had the worst launch since Sarah Palin,” Pritzker said of Vance, who is the least-liked non-incumbent VP nominee since 1980 according to CNN’s senior political data reporter Harry Enten.

“So, I’m not sure if Donald Trump is going to frankly throw him off the ticket and pick somebody else because he’s been just terrible on the stump.”
