Snoop Dogg, NBC, and the Olympics are teaming up once again to provide his "unique perspective" at the world's most prestigious sporting event.

The 2024 Paris Olympics kicks off on July 26, and NBC will have a handful of notable celebrities on its broadcast throughout the Summer Games.

Snoop Dogg, who has been on multiple NBC and Peacock broadcasts before, will take part in his second consecutive Olympic Games. He gave his take on some of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics' best moments with Kevin Hart.

Why is Snoop Dogg at the Olympics?

Snoop Dogg is a special correspondent for NBC's coverage of the 2024 Paris Olympics. He'll work in tandem with Mike Tirico during the live events.

Tirico will pitch the broadcast to Snoop Dogg to give his takes on what's going on at the Summer Games. Of course, the superstar will bring his "Snoop style to the mix."

"I grew up watching the Olympics and am thrilled to see the incredible athletes bring their A-game to Paris," Snoop Dogg said in a press release . "It’s a celebration of skill, dedication, and the pursuit of greatness. We’re going to have some amazing competitions and, of course, I will be bringing that Snoop style to the mix.

"It’s going to be the most epic Olympics ever, so stay tuned, and keep it locked. Let’s elevate, celebrate, and make these games unforgettable, smoke the competition, and may the best shine like gold. Peace and Olympic LOVE, ya dig?"

Snoop Dogg will have a different role this year compared to what he did with Peacock at the 2020 Olympics. He will be in Paris exploring the city, visiting athletes and their friends and family at the competitions.

He'll also be riding solo in this NBC appearance. Snoop Dogg was with Hart during the 2020 Olympics, providing commentary on some of the best moments.

NBC made the announcement official on Dec. 31, 2023, at halftime of Sunday Night Football. Snoop Dogg was also a part of a promotional video called "Snoop Year's Eve with Team USA" that same evening.

He sat down with a few United States Olympians, showing them iconic photos of themselves at previous Summer Games.

"Snoop is already an Olympic gold medal commentator, generating tens of millions of views for his highlights commentary on Peacock of the dressage competition during the Tokyo Olympics," said Molly Solomon , executive producer and president of NBC Olympic productions. "That performance alone has earned Snoop a job as our special correspondent in Paris.

"We don’t know what the heck is going to happen every day, but we know he will add his unique perspective to our re-imagined Olympic primetime show."

Why is Snoop Dogg carrying the Olympic torch?

In addition to his role with NBC, Snoop Dogg will be a torch bearer at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

He will carry the torch through the streets of Saint-Denis which is where the Stade de France Olympic Stadium is located.

Snoop Dogg is one of many torch bearers at the Olympic Games. He joins Laetitia Casta and MC Solaar in the role. The person who lights the Olympic cauldron has not been publicly announced yet.
