Meghan Markle issued major warning over move that would cause 'nightmare' for Royal Family

Meghan Markle has been warned that keeping her Duchess of Sussex title could create a significant "nightmare" for the Royal Family if she decides to venture into politics.

Ever since stepping down as a working royal, Meghan has been surrounded by rumors she wants to pursue a political career . Indeed, she was very involved in political and social activism before marrying Prince Harry .

President Joe Biden's announcement that he will not seek re-election and will instead support Vice President Kamala Harris' bid for the Democratic presidential nomination has reignited speculation about Meghan's political ambitions.

Commentator Natasha Livingstone told the Palace Confidential podcast: "If she was to keep her title, Duchess of Sussex, that would just be a real headache for the Royal Family who are notoriously non-political." She added: "And then to have a royal title associated with any political office would just be a nightmare for them, frankly."

Back in 2020, Meghan threw her support behind Kamala Harris when she was selected to be Biden's running mate. At the time, she said: "I'm so excited," before explaining why it was so important to see a woman of color achieve such a powerful position in politics.

Meghan shared: "I'm so excited to see that kind of representation. You know, for me, being biracial, growing up, whether it was a doll or a person in office, you need to see someone who looks like you in some capacity.

"As many of us believe, you can only be what you can see. And in the absence of that, how can you aspire to something greater than what you see in your own world?"

It's believed Meghan could once again endorse Harris and PR expert Ryan McCormick believes it could be beneficial for the Duchess of Sussex. He told The Mirror US: "Meghan publicly supporting Kamala Harris before many individuals did will bode well for her especially as the US Presidential Election campaigns go into high gear.

"If Markle does a number of high profile fundraisers and appearances for Harris, it will certainly elevate her status. In turn, Harris may very well appoint her to an ambassador-level position should she capture the presidency."
