Krapopolis Renewed for Season 4, Ahead of Season 2 Premiere on Fox

Fox is extending its stay in ancient Greece, renewing animated comedy Krapopolis for Season 4.

The pickup, which was announced at San Diego Comic-Con, comes ahead of Krapopolis’ Season 2 premiere, airing Sunday, Sept. 29 (at 9:30/8:30c).

“For all our Krap -devotees, there was no better place to decree another season of Krapopolis than the annual San Diego Comic-Con fan fest and no one better to deliver the proclamation than our brilliant creator and executive producer, Dan Harmon,” Fox president Michael Thorn said in a statement. “Dan and his team have created something special with this series, and now that Season 4 is etched in stone, we’ll be keeping those once-in-a-millennia laughs rolling on Fox Animation Domination.”

As previously reported, Krapopolis this fall will be joined by fellow Animation Domination returnees The Simpsons (entering Season 36) and Bob’s Burgers (entering Season 15). The trio will launch alongside new animated comedy Universal Basic Guys , which has already been picked up for a second season . Meanwhile, fellow cartoon Family Guy — which later this year will release two holiday specials exclusive to Hulu — will return to Fox’s lineup with Season 23 at midseason, along with The Great North (returning for Season 5) and Grimsburg (previously renewed for Season 2).

“Set in mythical ancient Greece, Krapopolis tells the story of a dysfunctional family of humans, gods and monsters trying to run one of the world’s first cities, while also trying their best to not kill each other in the process,” according to the official logline. The voice ensemble includes Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham ( Ted Lasso ), Richard Ayoade ( The IT Crowd ), Matt Berry ( What We Do in the Shadows ), Pam Murphy ( Mapleworth Murders ) and Duncan Trussell ( The Midnight Gospel ).

TVLine’s Dave Nemetz previously gave Krapopolis a “ B ,” calling it “a very worthy occupant of Fox’s vaunted Sunday night animation block, with a delightfully twisted take on ancient history and a solid arsenal of sharp one-liners.” Season 1 is currently streaming on Hulu.

The Season 4 renewal guarantees the cartoon a spot on Fox’s lineup through (at least) the 2026-27 TV season. Our sister site Variety was first to report the news.
