MLB NRFI picks for Friday, July 26

Let's take a look at a trio of MLB games today and offer our favorite NRFI picks for Friday, July 26, at the best U.S. sportsbooks .

Seattle Mariners vs. Chicago White Sox

    NRFI odds : -145

Since his MLB debut in early June, Drew Thorpe has been solid for a struggling White Sox team. He has allowed only one first-inning run in his seven starts while posting a 3.03 ERA, a 1.01 WHIP, and a 3-1 record for Chicago. Tonight, Thorpe duels against one of the best starters in baseball, George Kirby of Seattle. Kirby has a 3.20 ERA, 122 strikeouts, and a 0.98 WHIP, ranking in the top 25 in baseball in each category. Plus, he shuts down competition early in games, going 11 straight outings without allowing a first-inning run.

    Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

    NRFI odds: -110

While the attention around the Pirates is on Paul Skenes, Luis Ortiz has been dealing this season, too. He has a 2.57 ERA, primarily out of a long relief role. He has pitched so well that he earned a spot in the rotation and makes his fifth start of the season tonight. The righty has not allowed a first-inning run in any start so far. The Diamondbacks counter with Zac Gallen, who looks to continue his strong season. He has a 3.64 ERA but has been especially good at the beginning of his appearances. Gallen has gone 10 contests in a row without allowing a first-inning run.

NRFI pick of the day: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Houston Astros

    NRFI odds: -105

Gavin Stone has been huge for the Dodgers as one of only two starters not to miss time and post a winning WAR (1.8) this season. After a rough debut in the majors last year, when he pitched in eight games with a 9.00 ERA, he has been excellent in 2024, with a 9-3 record and a 3.19 ERA. The 25-year-old is the sixth betting choice for Rookie of the Year at +3000 on DraftKings (also available for ). Over Stone's last 12 outings, he has allowed a first-inning run just twice.

From youth to experience, the Astros give the baseball to Framber Valdez, who is on pace to have his fifth straight season with a sub-4.0 ERA. Valdez is 8-5, with a 3.63 ERA and 88 strikeouts. He has also pitched well early in his appearances, allowing a first-inning run only once in his last nine starts.
