The exclusive clip for The Arctic Convoy, which comes courtesy of Magnet Releasing, sees a merchant ship making its way through the Arctic seas in order to bring military supplies to a Norwegian outpost during World War II. Things then go awry when one of the crew members falls overboard into the icy cold water.
“In 1942, the leader of a convoy carrying vital military supplies to a Norwegian outpost decides to proceed through treacherous, enemy-infested waters despite the recall of their military escort. Fighting for their lives against German air and naval forces, the 35 civilian merchant ships brave brutal Arctic seas to bring much-needed support to soldiers on the front lines,” the synopsis for the movie reads.
The Norwegian film is written and directed by Henrik Martin Dahlsbakken, who previously made 2015’s Retunring Home, 2017’s Going West, 2018’s An Affair, 2020’s Another Happy Christmas, 2021’s Project Z, 2021’s The Outlaws, and 2023’s Munch, among other titles.
It stars Tobias Santelmann as Mørk, Anders Baasmo as Skar, Heidi Rudd Ellingsen as Ragnhild, Preben Hodneland as Lars, Adam Lundgren as Johan, Jon Ranes as Sigurd, Olav Waastad as Chiefen, Kristian Repshus as Evensen, Fredrick Stenberg D-S as Martinsen, Tord Kinge as Isaksen, and Jakob Fort as Bergvik.
The script was co-written by Christian Siebenherz, Lars Gudmestad, and Harald Rosenløw Eeg. Martin Sundland, Catrin Gundersen, and Thea Benedikte Karlsen produced the film.
