Her face was beat to the ‘gawds. Her hair was long, glamorous, and wavy like the ocean. And her melanin was on glow and ready to shine under the studio lights.

Arya Starr was not playing as she took to Jimmy Fallon’s late-night stage on July 23. The appearance marked her U.S. television debut, and the Nigerian Afrobeats singer did not disappoint.

Afrobeats sensation Arya Starr is taking it – see footage of her late-night U.S. TV  debut.

Arya dazzled the stage. For her major moment, she chose a shimmery golden monochromatic fit. Her ensemble featured a cropped tank, fringe mini skirt, and strappy gold heels, showing off her petite and fit frame.

The Grammy nominated artist’s hair and makeup continued the star’s golden theme, reflecting the magic of the night. Her hair was styled in a buss-down middle part with golden brown waves cascading past her shoulders. Her makeup gave her a natural shimmery glow with light pink blush and shadow, bronzer that stood out on camera, and nude glossy lips.

The seductive singer performed a medley of songs for the eager crowd. She started with a heartfelt rendition of “Last Heartbreak Song” and then sashayed into an enticing performance of “Woman Commando.” The features are from Arya’s sophomore album , The Year I Turned 21.

Is Arya the next princess of ‘Afropop?’

Arya’s recent TV appearance is sending waves across the industry. While Arya’s name and bombshell beauty may be new to some, hardcore music fans have known about the singer for a long time.

Discovered by music producer Don Jazzy , she burst onto the scene in 2021 with her self-titled EP. Tracks like “Away” and “Bloody Samaritan” quickly propelled her to stardom, showcasing her raw talent and unique blend of Afrobeats and R&B.

For Arya, whose real name is Oyinkansola Aderibigbe , the late-night show nod is the next step in her emerging career. This year alone has been a breakout one for the artist. She’s guest appearing on Chris Brown’s 11:11 tour, has been nominated for three BET awards and one Grammy, and has already collaborated with “it girl” artists like Coco Jones.

In a world of gorgeous stars and leaders of “Afropop ” like Tems and Tyla, many are asking if Arya is next. Is she taking it?
