“The Fall Guy” will soon be available to stream at home on Peacock — stunts and all. It will arrive on the service Aug. 30.

An extended version of the action-comedy film, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, also will bow the same day on Peacock, featuring 20 minutes of new scenes not previously seen in theaters. “The Fall Guy: The Extended Cut” includes “more action, stunts, romance and more sexy bacon!” according to NBCUniversal, for a total runtime of 146 minutes.
From director David Leitch, “The Fall Guy” hit VOD under a month after its theatrical release. The action-comedy debuted with just $28.5 million at the U.S. box office during its opening weekend, short of its projected $30 million to $40 million. The budget for the film was between $125 million and $150 million, and the global box office has since gone up to $171.8 million.
“The Fall Guy” stars Gosling as Colt Seavers, a Hollywood stuntman who retires after an on-set injury. He returns to the entertainment industry after a movie star (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) set to lead a film directed by Colt’s ex-girlfriend (Blunt) goes missing.
Based on the 1980s TV series of the same name about stunt performers, the film is distributed by Universal Pictures. The cast is rounded out by Stephanie Hsu, Teresa Palmer, Hannah Waddingham and Winston Duke.

Leitch, a former stunt performer, produced the movie alongside his wife Kelly McCormick through their production company 87North Productions. McCormick described Leitch as a “maximalist” in a May interview with Variety.
“So more is more for him, and you never know if you’re going to laugh or cry around any corner,” McCormick said.
In his review of the film, Variety ‘s film critic Peter Debruge wrote : “If the movie feels overstuffed, that’s because Leitch wants to give audiences more than just a taste, but the full buffet of what his trade is capable of. By the end, we can’t help appreciating just how hard it is to make action look easy.”
