Rumors about Sylvester Stallone ‘s funeral have been circulating online, prompting fans to wonder if the legendary action star has passed away . Here is what happened with Stallone and why there’s a death hoax and rumors about the very-much-still-alive actor.

    Sylvester Stallone death rumors explained

Sylvester Stallone is alive, and the rumors about his death are just that—rumors.

As of late July 2024, there has been no official statement from his team or family regarding his status. Furthermore, he has been active on Instagram, with a post from just 18 hours ago at the time of writing.

The recent post includes a video clip shot on the set of his crime-drama series Tulsa King, where Stallone makes an appearance. “Never a dull moment on the set of Tulsa King,” he wrote in the caption.

This is not the first time rumors about Stallone’s death have circulated on social media. In 2018, manipulated images claiming to show the actor in his final days spread online, prompting Stallone to address the hoax. “Please ignore this stupidity,” he posted on Instagram. “Alive and well and happy and healthy.” (via BBC )

Why did people say that Sylvester Stallone died?

On July 23, a Facebook account posted an update claiming that Sylvester Stallone had died. “The supremely talented actor, the man who acted at his best in many films, has gone,” the post read. “Sylvester Stallone, known as John Rambo (1946-2024) R.I.P. Legend. Your martial arts legacy remains in the film industry. May your great soul be remembered for eternity.”

The post has since garnered over three thousand shares and more than eight hundred comments. Fortunately, it has also been flagged as “false information.”

While the exact reason for these rumors is unclear, it’s possible that they were spread either as a prank or to attract attention.

Stallone has not yet addressed these new rumors. Besides Tulsa King, the 78-year-old actor currently stars in the reality TV series The Family Stallone. Both shows stream on Paramount+. He also has several films in the pipeline, including action thrillers Armored and Levon’s Trade.
