Jennie Garth spoke out about her former co-star Shannen Doherty on The View.

On Friday's episode, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin were on the panel today. They interviewed the actress about Shannen, Beverly Hills 90210, her podcast, and clothing line. The late Charmed star passed away at 53 from July 13 after her battle with stage 4 breast cancer. Joy asked how Jennie how she was doing and if there was anything she would have liked to say about her fellow castmate and friend.

"There so much I would love to say about Shannen, it’s still really very fresh. Still managing the whole grieving process. But it is sad, it’s sad for all of us [90210 cast]. We were brothers and sisters and we still are," Jennie softly said. "And what a bond we all have."

After the emotional words, Sarah Haines asked her about the teen drama specifically why it resonated with people and what it was like working with Shannen. The 52-year old explained that it was a "first glimpse" into Beverly Hills pre-phones and social media so people want to know about the place and be there. She added that for the first time she was watching the series and is on season five: "I'm hooked. I'm a superfan, I really understand it now on a different level."

She also said the cast "had a great time working together as young young people thrusted into this position." Jennie expressed her gratitude over the fact that they all had each other.

Beverly Hills 90210 was a drama that initially followed twins Brandon (Jason Priestley) and Brenda Walsh (Shannen) who move from Minnesota to Beverly Hills and then the teenage troubles that followed with entering a new high school and environment. The show lasted for ten seasons and Shannen only stayed on the show for some of its run Jennie, who played Kelly Taylor, stayed on for all ten seasons. The Fox series eventually features the lives of teens through college and into adulthood. The other iconic cast members from the show are the late Luke Perry (Dylan McKay), Tori Spelling (Donna Martin), Brian Austin Greene (David Silver), Ian Ziering (Steve Sanders) and Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea Zuckerman).

Shannen and Jennie's characters were close friends (and rivals) on the show which reflected reality for the two. In March 2014, Jennie talked to E! News about her memoir Deep Thoughts From a Hollywood Blonde. In which she confirmed the prior rumors of her and Shannen having a feud: " There were times when we loved each other and there were times when we wanted to claw each other's eyes out." In her memoir, she called Shannen one of her "dearest, closest friends."

The mother-of-three took to her Instagram the day, July 14, after Shannen passed to share words about the news. She began that she was still "processing my tremendous grief" and Shannen was "the strongest people I have ever known."

“Our connection was real and honest. We were so often pitted against each other but none of that reflected the truth of our real relationship which was one built on mutual respect and admiration,” she wrote. “She was courageous, passionate, determined and very loving and generous. I will miss her and will always honor her deeply in my heart and in my memories. My heart breaks for her family and Bowie and all the people who loved her.”
