Hunt for suspect after 'explosion' in Duluth proved to be firework set off in fountain

Police in Duluth are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect they say set off a large firework in a fountain near City Hall.

On Thursday at around 7:30 a.m., the Duluth Police Department responded to a report of an explosion at Priley Circle, located near City Hall.

Police later determined that the explosion was caused by a “large firework” that had been set off in a fountain.

No injuries or property damage were reported in connection with the explosion.

DPD has released images of a suspect and asked anyone with information to call 911 or text DPDTIP to 847411.
