Why not adopt a cat? Beaver County Humane Society to host event Saturday

CENTER TWP. ― A set of fuzzy friends from Beaver County are looking for homes during a special adoption event that is taking place Saturday.

The Beaver County Humane Society has announced it will be hosting a 50% off adoption event for cats and kittens on Saturday, July 27. The event will be walk-in appointments only and it is recommended that visitors take time to fill out their pre-adoption paperwork online before arriving to make the process run smoothly.

“Kitten season shows no signs of slowing down, so we’re hoping this event lowers the barriers to adoption and connects our cats and kittens with the forever homes they deserve,” said Cailin Rankin, the BCHS shelter manager. “Our goal is to create more space for the other cats and kittens who still need our help.”

During the event, there will be a temporary pause on walk-in dog adoptions as the staff works to address the overwhelming number of cats in their care. As the number of incoming pets has surged in recent months, the shelter is facing incredible strain to accommodate all the animals' needs. While their care is helping, the animals would also thrive in a home where they can find comfort and love with families.

The shelter also encourages donations that can help care for the animals, such as cat litter, toys and other feline-focused pet products. A full wish list of needed items can be found on the BCHS website .
