After all of the back and forth between Geezer Butler saying there was no chance, and Ozzy Osbourne sticking to his "never say never" mentality, it was apparently all up to drummer Bill Ward regarding any chance of a Black Sabbath reunion. Well, Bill has finally entered the conversation…

"I'm in for playing some of everyone's old favourites. Loved playing them then. I'd love to play them one last time," Ward confirmed in a recent social media post sharing his wish to play one final show with his Black Sabbath bandmates. "I’m not going to talk about my health publicly except to say, everyday I’m pretty good for 76 years old," he adds. "I’m active musically every day, and I have a very busy and gratifying life. Love you all, all the f***ng time."

Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi , Geezer Butler and Bill Ward played their final Black Sabbath concert together at Ozzfest 2005 in West Palm Beach, FL. The band, with drummer Tommy Clufetos on the kit, wrapped up their live career in 2017 with The End Tour following a bitter feud between Ward and Osbourne.

After apparently agreeing to play one final show, just last month , bassist Geezer Butler put the brakes on any possibility of a reunion saying "It's just not going to happen," adding, "Ozzy has been texting me about doing one final show with Bill and that's it, but it's just not going to happen. But I always said that the original Black Sabbath would never get back together."

Guitarist Tony Iommi, now 76 years old as well, said of a potential reunion back in May, “That’d be a nice thing to actually do, but whether it happens will be another thing.” He continued, “I have to look at it realistically at my age. I can’t go out and do a two-year tour like we were doing before. And to put something together like the original Sabbath or this or that or the other, you’ve gotta do it a long time because of the cost of everything. But we’ll see. I mean, who knows?”
