CLAY COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — Almost all government offices in Clay County have re-opened at least in limited capacity following a July 9 ransomware attack.

The attack crippled the courthouse, and caused County Commissioners to declare an emergency on July 11 that was then extended until July 25.

Officials then announced a new website that shows the status of each office affected. As of 11:25 a.m. on Friday, all county offices except for Child Support have been reopened.

A number of them remain limited in the services officered including the county Assessor, Auditor, Clerk of Court, Election office, and Recorder.

County officials have not disclosed how various systems and offices were brought back online, or if any money has been paid to the attackers.
