That's Dutch Johnson Playing Warden Hayes on GH

Viewers were surprised to see a new face as a new warden at Pentonville appeared on General Hospital in the July 25, 2024, episode when Anna paid a visit to the prison. Pentonville Warden Hayes was played by Dutch Johnson , and it actually wasn’t the actor’s daytime debut!

Johnson previously appeared as a bounty hunter in a 2006 episode of GH and in 2012, as one of the firefighters who came to the rescue when the cabin where Heather was keeping Luke went up in flames.

Going by the name Dutche-Barre Johnson earlier in his career, the actor got started in 2006 with small roles in films like The Devil Wears Prada and television series like Heroes. Viewers might also recognize him from appearances in episodes of Lethal Weapon, Notorious, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Major Crimes, American Crime Story, Lucifer, and NCIS: Los Angeles.

More recently, Johnson has played Rick Youngblood on HBO’s Veep, Bruce in the Max series Made for Love, and Jack Greywolf O’Bannon in the CW’s ecological thriller series The Swarm.

While his previous roles on GH were day-player characters, Warden Hayes could prove to be a recurring gig for Johnson. Anna was quite surprised when the guy claimed to have no record of a Jack or John Brennan being a prisoner at Pentonville, so the guy is clearly shady and knows a lot more about the criminal than he’s letting on. Plus, Heather is still an inmate there, and given how often people in Port Charles run afoul of the law, a prison warden would be kept pretty busy!
