Lady Gaga made her 2024 Paris Olympics debut at the Opening Ceremony.

The singer came in with pink feathers covering her face and body by her dancers. They then show off Lady Gaga wearing a black strapless corset and shirt with black tights and gloves. She also wore a black cape with pink and black feathers in the back of the trail. Her hair was slicked back with feathers coming out on the top. The singer sang in French, surprising viewers at home, who were left divided by her performance.

One person on X, formerly known as Twitter wrote in Spanish: "Lady Gaga's performance was tremendous! The #OpeningCeremony #Paris2024 is going well." Another person wrote: "#LadyGaga was AMAZING! #OpeningCeremony." A third person wrote: "What a talented woman @ladygaga is. #OpeningCeremony #Olympics."

But others weren't as impressed, as one X user said: "I'm still trying to get over how bad that Lady Gaga performance was." While another remarked: "The Lady Gaga performance at the #Olympics opening ceremony is sooo bad.. who thought it was a good idea to perform cabaret at the olympics.."

Lady Gaga worked the stage. She walked down from a yellow staircase and danced her way to a black piano, which she played. She did a quick change and instead of the black and pink feathers, she replaced it with white puffy ones. She finished her performance walking up the yellow stairs and posing with her hands on her things, bending down a little with a smile on her face.

The 2024 Olympics in Paris kicked off on July 26 and will run until April 11, bringing together athletes from around the world to compete in a variety of sports including swimming, field hockey, gymnastics, and more.

In a first for the games, the opening ceremony took place outside of the stadium with a parade of boats down the Seine. A total of 10,500 athletes made their way to France for the event, which broke tradition by putting athletes on stage and starting the games with a parade of athletes.

The event accommodated 300,000 spectators, mostly free of charge, as attendance was a key focus for the city.

The condition of the Seine was closely monitored in the lead up to the Olympics. Known for its sewage pollution, Paris pledged to clean the river so it could be used during the games. To demonstrate that the water was safe, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo took a swim in the river ahead of the games.
