Maryland State Police have charged six people for participation in what they called illegal large-scale exhibition driving events in Prince George’s County.

In June, the Maryland Car Rally Task Force, which includes the Maryland State Police andTransportation Authority Police along with several local law enforcement departments, responded to three car rallies in Laurel, Greenbelt, Beltsville and Upper Marlboro.

After investigating the rallies, five of the six were served with a criminal summons while another was arrested.

All six were charged in connection with illegal exhibition driving events in Prince George’s County, police say. Activities reported by police at these events included blocking public roads for dangerous stunts, disrupting traffic, causing property damage and posing risks to the public.

Maryland State Police did not provide the specific role of each of the six individuals during these exhibitions, but said “all of them played a role in the disruptive exhibition driving incidents.”
