This week, The Today Show 's Instagram posted a clip of Garten, 76, in Paris for the Olympics , and her simple yet chic ensemble proves that you needn't be ultra-tall to pull off a more voluminous silhouette.

While some women under 5'4" might find the thought of wearing shapeless pieces daunting, Garten proves that a simple addition can make all the difference when it comes to not looking swallowed by excess fabric if you're on the shorter side.

Wearing her classic chambray button-down, black slacks and comfortable travel sneakers (Allbirds, of course), The Barefoot Contessa stylishly shows that with one small tweak, baggier clothes can totally work for petites. The tweak in question: a printed silk scarf knotted loosely around the neck, which works to lengthen the entire silhouette, drawing the eye upward and making Garten appear taller than her 5'3" frame.
