Marvel Rivals reveals new characters and more at Comic-Con. Developer NetEase Games announced that Thor and Jeff the Land Shark are joining the beta and revealed part of the game’s voice cast. Developers also shared a story teaser featuring legendary Marvel villain Doctor Doom.

What did Marvel Rivals reveal at Comic-Con?

The Marvel superhero shooter’s closed beta is ongoing and runs through August 5. The Marvel Rivals developer revealed that the beta will get a big update on July 27, introducing Thor and Jeff the Landshark as playable. The studio hasn’t shown gameplay for either of them, though they appeared in two new trailers released today.

Jeff the Landshark is one of the quirkier characters in Marvel’s canon. Originally Gwenpool’s pet, the legged fish is more like an adorable dog than an aquatic apex predator. Fans get a taste of his personality in the recent trailer, where he “sings” a little song.

Thor didn’t get his own trailer but was revealed in Marvel Rivals’ No One Rivals Doom trailer. This version of Thor is a bit older than the Marvel default and sporting an impressive full beard. He appears alongside Iron Man, Black Panther, Rocket Racoon, Magik, Magneto, and Peni Parker. While the specifics of his plan aren’t yet precise, it seems that the megalomaniacal Dr. Doom is responsible for the Timestream Entanglement engulfing the multiverse.

Finally, developer NetEase games revealed part of the Marvel Rivals cast and musical talent. The game’s score comes from industry veteran Shota Nakama and guitarist Godspeed, among others.

The voice cast includes Troy Baker as Loki, Nolan North as Rocket Racoon, Yuri Lowenthal as Spider-Man, Mara Junot as Storm, and Cassandra Lee Morris as Galacta.
