The Olympic Games are a global event that brings people from all over the world together through sports. The 2024 Paris Olympic Games are no different.

The past Olympic Summer Games have been a celebration of diversity in music, with performances from a wide range of artists, from Stevie Wonder in Atlanta in 1996, to Paul McCartney, Queen, and The Spice Girls in London in 2012. Angélique Kidjo, Alejandro Sanz, John Legend, Keith Urban and the Suginami Children's Choir were picked to perform at the latest 2020 Tokyo Olympics, showcasing the stage as a melting pot of musical talent.

Prior to the opening ceremony, there were rumors that Celine Dion and Lady Gaga , two artists with a worldwide fan base, would perform at the opening ceremony, which symbolizes the beginning of the Summer Games and the rumors were right.

Fans spotted the 13-time Grammy winner, Lady Gaga, smiling in a baseball cap and sunglasses on the Monday before the Olympics kicked off in Paris, adding blowing kisses to the crowd. Lady Gaga did indeed take the stage in a typical French style, even singing in French, with pink pom-poms all around her.

Dion, who was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, appeared after the lighting of the cauldron at the end of the opening ceremony. Dion performed at the Eiffel Tower, marking her second Olympic Games ceremony performance, as she had also performed at the 1996 Atlanta Games.
